Cornwall has had a reputation for being a centre of the arts for centuries. The Newlyn School became world famous, and is very well exhibited in the Tate St. Ives. There are many world class artists living and working in the county as well, such as John O'Carroll, who lives and has a gallery on the North Coast.
Design has also flourished, especially with the Falmouth Arts University, producing a vibrant creative scene here.
Design Debate is a blog featuring thoughts on this creative industry, edited by a designer in the Westcountry, but with a broad focus taking in advertising and design trends on the world scene.
Pickle News features news and events from one of those Cornish design studios, and keeps people up to date on the projects going on in the company. This company are keen to promote good design on the North Coast of Cornwall, an area that has been overlooked in some regards for many years. The standard of design has certainly improved in recent years, and I hope that it continues to do so.
